Bitche, France

20 Feb - We cooked full American breakfast for our guests Alex and Laura - eggs, grits, bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy.....yum!!! Our #2 Favorite Slovak friend from Den Haag was coming to spend that night and wanted us to cook steak. As we prepared the menu, we discovered we did not have any fresh bread. Soo we packed up and drove the 45 minutes to Bitche France to get fresh French Baguette bread and have lunch.....of course!!!!
We stopped at the local Citadel (French for HUGE fort!!) at the center of the town. Google the town and see an arial photo. Then we stopped at a resturant and had a beer, bought chocolate and pasteries and then had a Turkish Donner for lunch. Not much open on a Saturday in France in February. We drove home and cooked steaks, King crab legs, some Great Australian wine from our friends, and Kim cooked a FANTASTIC Ooey, Gooey Butter cake!!!! I'll die early for eating that for sure!!
