Over the Thanksgiving weekend we visited 3 local Christmas markets. On Thanksgiving Day we visited the Kaiserslautern Market where our thanksgiving lunch consisted of mushrooms, brats, gluhwein and crepes!! On Sunday we visited Heidelberg then Speyer. Heidelberg is a beautiful old city with a wonderful university. Speyer is on the Rhine and is home to the "greatest roman church in the world". It was constructed 1030-1124. It is a large and beautiful church.
